AxiCom: RT @TheWeek: 5 fall TV shows we're excited for: http://t.co/WTPYcZqw

To illustrate the changing face of self publishing and cookery in the UK, AxiCom created the Blurb Technology Cookery School - the concept fused technology with cooking and self publishing, whilst also highlighting the strength of the printed book.

We recognised that although the cookbook is still a stalwart in every household, most creative cooks also look elsewhere for that bit of fun, inspiration and insight to jazz up their meal. Some amateur chefs hit the supermarket or watch TV shows but the majority prefer the instant access an app or website provides. As a result, AxiCom sought the partnership of Michelin star Chef Josh Eggleton and up and coming food site Great British Chefs to help bring this Blurb concept to life.
So we turned on the i-pad, tuned into a Cookery School in central London and invited 10 high profile consumer journalists to ‘e-cook with a Michelin Star Chef’! The journalists not only had access to one of the country’s most up and coming young talents, but also had the opportunity to learn how to publish their own cookery book, whilst honing their culinary skills. Eating incredible food the journalists had made themselves whilst discussing the merits of the printed book versus the e-book or the app, really affirmed the importance of Blurb’s growth strategy and showcased its leadership within the self publishing space.
Not only did the journalists leave with full stomachs and a cooks apron; they also had a fuller understanding of Blurb, GBC and how to make a delicious risotto from scratch. Here’re some pictures....

Thanks to David Griffen for the pics!
